About Susan…

I have always loved babies, especially newborn babies, and to me, there is nothing quite so beautiful as a pregnant woman! As an RN of many years, birth has now become my passion, my biggest joy, my greatest gift. My own birth stories are unforgettable; I birthed my first daughter at our local hospital and gave birth to my second daughter in our home.  Both experiences were equally profound and empowering.  A few years later, I started on my journey of becoming a birth doula, attending and supporting friends having their babies in their homes and in hospitals. In the Spring of 2014, I completed a doula training at our local hospital where all laboring women may choose to have a doula with them, free of charge. I loved this work and went on to attend a DONA doula training and an advanced birth doula training with Indigo Birth, becoming a professional birth doula.  I am grateful I have found my career “Sweet Spot”!

What I can provide for you…

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek, meaning “woman servant”. Today, a birth doula is trained to support a woman and her family by providing physical, emotional and informational support before, during, and just after the birth of their baby. A doula understands that the birth of your baby is a day that will always be remembered. As your doula, I will support you in having a memorable and satisfying birthing experience whether you choose to have your baby at home, in a birthing center, or at the hospital.  I will be there to provide physical comfort and emotional support and advocacy. I will not make decisions for you but will help you get the information you need to make an informed choice and, as your due date approaches, I will be available 24 hours a day by email, phone or text. I also offer Belly Casting and an easy yoga flow, especially for pregnant women. Payment plans are available for all services.

I am independent and self employed, and most importantly, I work for you!
